Auditions to be held this month for “The Good Doctor”

Interested members of the community are invited to audition for an upcoming production of “The Good Doctor” to be put on by the Gratiot County Players. Auditions will take place August 12th and 13th at 6:30 p.m. inside the Strand Theatre. According to a post by Joshua Ryan, “This show is a delightful comedy by Neil Simon containing a number of short sketches adapted from the short stories of Anton Chekhov. It has parts in it for a variety of ages, and if you’re new to the stage but always wanted to give it a shot, it’s a great opportunity to get involved.”

A copy of the script is on hold at the Alma Public Library for anybody to review up until auditions.

The performance dates for the play are October 18-20 and 25-27.

Car Rental Recommendations Needed

Lisa is looking for recommendations for car rentals.

Discussion Thread follows below.

  • Lisa: Are there any car rental places in the area? Enterprise doesn’t have any cars. I need a car for a few days as my car is being looked at to see if it’s repairable.
    • Scott: Check with a car dealership
    • Lisa: the dealerships are so expensive. $500 deposit and that doesn’t include the daily rental fee.
    • Scott: Lisa, The closest rental place is Mount Pleasant or probably Freeland at the airport.
    • Lisa: Scott, that is what I was afraid of. Was hoping there was a secret spot locally! Thank you.
  • Jill: The place you are getting your car repaired doesn’t offer a loaner car?
    • Lisa: Jill, no otherwise I wouldn’t be asking
  • Dusty: used rent cars. Link Posted.
  • Lisa ok thank you I will give them a call
    • Dusty Lisa, welcome
  • Lisa Phipps Mills Seely does not rent vehicles
    • Mackenzie Townsend Seeleys only does so when they specifically work on the car themselves that came from there lot, and you ask for a rental because you have no other choice. It happened to me.
  • Doni Krapohl Ford Mt P
  • Lisa: Doni, 500 dollar security deposit. Way to much right now
