Ice Cream Social

The Shepherd Area Historical Society will be hosting its annual Ice Cream Social inside the Shepherd Veteran’s Memorial Park on Monday, July 8, 2024 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. The event features free ice cream, and a free performance by the Central Michigan Area Concert Band. Support for the maintenance of the historical society’s two museums in the form of donations will be welcomed. For more information, follow the event on Facebook here.

Shepherd Highland Games

The Shepherd Highland Games will be held on Saturday, July 13 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The event will feature traditional Scottish athletic competitions such as the caber toss and hammer throw and take place inside the Shepherd Community Park. There will also be food trucks, face painting, live music, an artisan market, and bounce houses. Follow the Facebook event here for more information.

Shepherd Community Block Party Dinner

A community block party dinner will be held on Thursday, August 8 starting at 6 p.m. The event will include a backyard barbecue themed dinner, silent auction, live music and door prizes. Proceeds from the event will support the St. Vincent De Paul food pantry. The event will take place on 2nd Street in front of the Post Office.

Shepherd Community Yard Sales

Village wide yard sales will be held in Shepherd on August 15 – 17. Follow the event on Facebook for more information.

Reading in the Park

The Shepherd Elementary is hosting Reading in the Park taking place every Wednesday from 6- 7 p.m. the summer. The event will be held inside the pavilion at the Shepherd Veteran’s Memorial Park.

Dueling Pianos

Dueling pianos will return to downtown Shepherd on Thursday, July 18 at 6 p.m. Dan Louisell and Noel Leanman will entertain with their request based interactive music and comedy. The event will take place in front of the Shepherd Bar.
