  • Posted on the SPD Facebook page: “Thank you to the person in front of me at the Shepherd McDonald’s drive thru that paid for my lunch! It was greatly appreciated.”
  • Chief Sawyer received a homemade card from a Shepherd student. “A new prized possession . . . a card from my friend Bella. She comes every day and sees me at the bus loop in the afternoon,” Sawyer wrote on the SPD Facebook page. “I keep these types [of] cards in an envelope for those days you just need a ‘pick me up’. Thank you so much, Bella . . . you made my day!”
  • The test of the Emergency Alert System which had been scheduled for September 20 has been postponed until October 3.
  • The items collected for the Foster Closet of Isabella County have been delivered to the organization.
    • A message posted on the Facebook page for the Foster Closet of Isabella County reads, “Thank you to all who donated items at the Shepherd police station! What a blessing! Thank you Chief Sawyer and the community of Shepherd!”
    • The Shepherd Police Department added on its Facebook page, “Thanks to the generosity of our community…the Foster Closet has a great stock of the items they needed for some time…”
