School is cancelled for Shepherd Public Schools on Monday, November 18, 2024 due to the boil water advisory which is in effect for the Village of Shepherd. The announcements along with an official copy of a statement in PDF form was posted on Facebook Sunday. Meanwhile, the Village of Shepherd posted an update stating that “[a] 24 hour sample has been taken so we can see where things are at.”
The SPS notice posted on Facebook stated that during the school closure on Monday, they are going to make preparations around the school to ensure that the students will be able to attend school safely when school resumes on Tuesday. This includes shutting off the water fountains and enacting safe practices for preparing food.
Hopefully, the boil water advisory can be lifted during the next couple of days so that residents’ lives can return to normal.
